For a Westerner, a journey to Japan is plenty of well known 'clichés', but when you dig a little bit more, you have to recognize that Japan is somehow different. Nevertheless it is a fascinating difference, that we will try to share with you on this website.

The side of Japan which is less known is definitively the traditional one. And interestingly enough it is still very alive. Here above you can see one of the thousands temples which are still places of woreship for the Japanese.
They are periodic celebrations and festivals, and they are regularly visited to express wishes. Some of these temples are located in shrines which include gardens, which are part of the cultural inheritage of Japan.

But we will also mention in this journey, the modern side of the country, which is symbolized by the capital city of Tokyo, the gigantic metropolis of Japan. But Tokyo is only one of the numerous and large modern Japanese cities like Osaka, Yokohama or Nagoya.
