As part of their training to become 'Genin' or Ninja Junior, the members of the Team 7are assigned to a mission of C Rank : a Journey to the Land of Waves. The team led by thier sensei Kakashi, will be the bodygard of Tazuna, the Master Bridge Builder. He needs to be protected against bandits in his trip from Konoha back to the Land of Waves.

But soon, the Team has to face the Demon Brothers, two Chunin-level ninja who at the end of the ambush are defeated by the combined fight of Sasuke and Kakashi.
Kakashi discovers that the target of the ninja enemy is Tazuna who are missioned by Gato , a wealthy businessman who monopolized the Land of Waves's trade, thus earning a massive profit at the expense of the residents of the island and he is opposed to the bidge's construction.
After this first fight, the Team succeded to bring safely Tazuna to his village in the Land of Waves.
After the Demon Brothers, Team 7 members will have to face a more powerful enemy: Zabuza Momoshi
Gato is furious about the first fight issue and ask Zabuza to finish quickly the job. Zazuba Momoshi is a Kirigakure ninja, skilled in water based abilities and he can blanket his opponents in an area of mist. So a new fight against the Team 7, the bodyguards of Tazuna, should have to take place.
Zabuza Momoshi possesses a massive sword called Kubikiri.
